BIO

Dana Furuyama, LCSW #104500

A queer, Japanese-American cis-woman therapist smiling and sitting on a green couch

Hi, my name is Dana Furuyama, and I am a LCSW in Los Angeles, California on native Tongva land. I practice virtually from CA. I have experience working with BIPOC, the LGBTQIA community, healthcare and mental health care workers, new parents, expecting parents, and folks working in the Entertainment Industry.

I have helped people navigate issues around coming out, affirming gender exploration, relationship issues, HIV, family planning, pre-natal and post-natal transitions, pregnancy loss, polyamory, depression, PTSD, anxiety, and substance abuse/misuse, burn out, life and career transitions, and generational trauma. I practice a blended approach of EMDR, talk therapy, and IFS to help you heal from past wounds and step into a more empowered version of yourself. My style is warm, inviting, curious, and kind. I believe you should be able to feel comfortable showing up as your full self in therapy and that together, we can collaborate to help you find how to embody your full self.

I look forward to helping you in your healing journey.
